Kurdish party office set on in Turkey

The building of central office of the Kurdish Peace and Democracy (BDP) was attacked by two strangers on February 5 night. The patrolling policemen opened return fire after making the intruders flee. After the accident extra police troops arrived at the site, covering the surrounding neighborhood.

NEWS.am recalls, that Turkish prosecutor’s office launched investigation in connection with founding congress of pro-Kurdish party held in Ankara, Feb.1. Under the investigation, security services were asked to provide videos of their party congress.

At the Peace and Democracy party congress the Turkish anthem was not played. Besides, Kurdistan Workers’ Party leader Abdullah Ocalan as well as other leaders were praised. Former and incumbent party leaders sharply criticized Turkish authorities and blamed them for speculations in Kurdish issue and pressure on Kurds.
