The tallest tower in the world — Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai unexpectedly closed for public for technical reasons just weeks after its opening in January.

The observation deck located on the 124th floor is temporarily closed due to “unexpected high traffic” and “technical issues with the power supply”, reads the statement of building company, Aljazeera reports.

According to the agency, the closure of skyscraper for tourists will negatively impact Dubai tourism that is recently in a slump. Tourism in Dubai accounts for a fifth of country’s economy.

The tickets for the observation deck of the 828m high Burj Khalifa were sold at over $27 each and $110 for a queue-jump pass.
