Armenia’s orphanages receive financing not only from the state budget, but also from donators, Armine Tanashyan of the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Security, told NEWS.am.
She reported that eight state-run and four privately-owned orphanages are currently operating in Armenia, with 950 and 250 children respectively being in their charge.
Tanashyan pointed out that the RA Government allocates 1,500 AMD a day for each child.
Asked about the orphans’ future after they leave the orphanages, Tanashyan said that special housing and employment programs are implemented in Armenia for this social group.
