Gas price will make U.S. $180 per 1000m3 in Armenia starting January 1, 2010. Under the ArmRosGazprom (ARG) CJSC and Gazprom OJSC agreement, Armenia had to pay U.S. $200 per 1000m3. ArmRosGazprom Company Board Chairman Karen Karapetyan stated a month ago that gas rate for Armenia will be reduced. RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan confirmed the information on November 19, 2009.

According to experts, Russia had cut gas price due to fall in oil price in world markets. Gazprom will supply gas to European countries at U.S. $200-220 against previous U.S. $460, whereas Armenia presently pays U.S. $154 per 1000m3.

Starting April 1, 2010 gas and electricity prices will rise, Chairman of RA Public Services Regulatory Commission Robert Nazaryan stated recently.
