China mine blast death toll reached 104

Death toll of mine blast in Heilongjiang Longmei Mining Holding Group, north-eastern China on Nov. 21 reached 104 people. According to recent data, 4 miners are still trapped underground, Xinhua agency reports referring to Chinese authorities’ statement.

The trapped miners are at 500m depth. According to the agency, gas lock caused the accident. There were 528 people working at the moment of explosion, 389 of them managed to go out.

Vice President of the Republic of China Vincent Siew arrived at the emergency site to control rescue operations.
