Kurds held rally in Diarbekir

Many-thousand rally organized by Democratic Society Party (DTP) in support of Abdullah Ocalan’s life term was held Kurds-populated Turkish Diarbekir, Turkish Radikal daily reports. The party members are indignant over the fact that Ocalan was put in a 6 m3 cell instead of previous 12m3. During the rally masked people threw stones at the protestors, however they were forced back from the mob.

As NEWS.am reported previously, Ocalan is held under solitary confinement as the only prisoner on the Omrali Island in the Turkish Sea of Marmara. He has been imprisoned by Turkey since 1999 on Imrali Island. Recently, Turkish authorities decided to improve his prison conditions. A while ago, Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Ocalan’s 12 followers will be jailed with him on Imrali Island. Strikingly, Kurdish leader of PKK got engaged to his lawyer, having met for already 640 times in the prison.
