Poland wishes to play active role in South Caucasus

Poland wishes to play more active role in the South Caucasus, Polish National Defense Minister Bogdan Klich told the journalists in Yerevan. According to him, in the course of his visit to the region, the cooperation in the fields advantageous to all sides was discussed.

“We want Poland to be involved in the South Caucasus more, just as Armenia in Poland,” he said, adding that Warsaw is ready to share cooperation experience with Brussels. The Minister expressed confidence that Armenia-EU relations should be intensified and Poland is ready to assist this process. “Armenia was a part of Europe long before the latter realized so,” underlined Klich.

RA Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan outlined that present contractual legal framework enables Armenia to expand military cooperation with Poland. According to him, the agreement on submission of certain proposals on military technical cooperation was reached. He stated that Polish delegation comprised also official responsible for country’s defense industry who held talks with his Armenian counterparts.

The RA Defense Minister outlined that complementary policy Armenia adopts, enables to cooperate with various international organizations like CSTO and NATO. Ohanyan emphasized that cooperation with Poland will provide an opportunity to gain experience for exercising of modern standards.
