Today, Feb. 8, after the batter in Turkish Parliament on February 2, Parliament Speaker and ruling Justice and Development party member Mehmet Ali Sahin threw a reconciling dinner party.
According to Turkish CNNturk, the oppositional Republican People’s party did not attend the dinner including the Feb. 2 sitting chair, Deputy Parliament Speaker Guldal Mumcu.
As NEWS.am reported previously, Feb. 2 in Turkish Grand NA an oppositional Nationalist Movement party member referring to the incident with Erdogan’s spouse (banned from entering the hospital without headscarf to visit a popular actor Nejat Uygur) ironically said “how they dare to keep prophet’s wife out.” Osman Durmus recalled that one of Erdogan’s party fellows called him prophet back in 2008.
Thereafter, Turkish PM mounted the rostrum and gave an infuriated speech that it is unmoral to remark on his wife’s headscarf. The chairing oppositional MP switched off the microphone during the Erdogan’s speech, which led to a clash. As a result one MP was taken to the hospital.
