Georgian General — witness of August war

Georgian side started massive attacks on Tskhinvali (S. Ossetia), said Badri Bitsadze, Former Border Guard Commander and Former Deputy Internal Minister of Georgia, — husband of Nino Burjanadze, Former Speaker of Georgian Parliament.

Bitsadze told “Asaval-Dasavali” paper that the mass attacks on Tskhinval were started at 10:45 p.m. August 7. “The attack lasted the whole night. Russian servicemen were not in the city by then,” Georgian General stated.

According to him, he observed the bombing along with 250 subordinates 100 meters from Georgian gunners. Bitsadze maintains Georgian operation was “chaotic and lacked plan.”

NEWS.am informed yearly, under EU auspices a report was issued calling Saakashvili guilty for starting the August 2008 war. In this regard, Georgian opposition leaders want Georgian President face trial in Hague Tribunal as war criminal.
