
The construction of a new port replacing Batumi port in Georgia is scheduled, Georgian Alia newspaper reports. According to the source, the construction is planned in Grigoleti settlement, Western Georgia.
Azeri took control over the implementation of the project, moreover they already started to purchase lands at quite low prices, the paper reads.
The project designer is a former President of Georgian International Oil Corporation (GIOC) Giya Chanturiya, currently working in Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, “Movement for fair Georgia” party representative Lela Chakhvadze stated certain groups buy lands from local population at miserly sums. Local residents assure that it is Azeris who purchase the lands, Georgia online informs.
