
Iran initiated talks with Turkey on the possibility of uranium enrichment in Turkey. The other day Head of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei called Iran to deliver agreed volumes of low-enriched uranium to Turkey. Intense talks between Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki as well as Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on the matter are held in Istanbul.
According to diplomatic sources, Iran might agree to enrich uranium on Turkey’s territory. Quite possibly, an agreement will be signed between the two states these days.
However, U.S. State Department Spokesman Ian Kelly stated that like before U.S. awaits for Iran’s response to the offer.
