Armenia’s common battle is the battle for a secure and a peaceful life, the country’s President Serzh Sargsyan said Sunday, meeting with the voters in Gyumri city, and along the lines of campaigning for the country’s forthcoming National Assembly elections.

“They [the Azerbaijani’s] fired shots at Dovegh [village] several days ago. All of us want a peaceful life, specifically those living in the border areas. So, our common battle is the battle for a dignified, secure, and peaceful life,” the President told the Gyumri voters.

“The [1988] earthquake changed a lot [in Gyumri]. You truly are courageous people. What helped the villager in growing his tree of life and keeping his house bright? [Were they] The roots, love toward life, hope, faith? [It was] All [of them]. Also, [they were] the will, courage, [and] being in one family. Everything is just beginning for Gyumri,” Serzh Sargsyan added.
