YEREVAN. – The ruling coalition’s senior partner, the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), is resorting to a variety of methods to receive votes in the upcoming parliamentary elections, Zhoghovurd daily writes.

“The authorities have promised to residents of the Aragatsotn Region’s Nerkin Bazmaberd village that they will set free Artak Petrosyan, who is convicted for smuggling, if the RPA receives the overwhelming majority of the votes in this village.

They gave a similar promise to the residents of Arteni village. Here they pledged to release Vahram Khachatryan—who is convicted with the murder case of Samvel Shaboyan, Director of the Khosrov Forest—again under the same condition,” Zhoghovurd writes.
