The UN Security Council made a resolution on the border conflict between the two Sudan states and threatened both sides with sanctions if they do not stop the escalation of violence and return to the negotiation table. As Liberty Radio Station reports, the resolution is on settling the conflict and was proposed by the African Union. On May 1 South Sudan accused Khartoum of committing attacks on oilfields in their territory in the area of Hofra, located in the north. Earlier the South Sudan authorities announced about the failure of all attempts to find a negotiated solution to the conflict with its northern neighbor.
