YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia on Thursday approved the decisions envisioning changes in the laws on the Budget System and the Treasury System. 

As per Finance Minister Vache Gabrielyan, who was presenting the matter, the creation of legal foundations for program budgeting and the regulation of off-budget accounts are especially important. 

In response to PM Tigran Sargsyan’s question as to what Armenia’s citizens can expect from these changes in the laws, the Finance minister said the citizens will see programs, and not lines, in the budget.     

To note, these changes substantially expand the program budgeting framework.
