YEREVAN. – At Yerevan’s Saint Hovhannes Church Christians participated in a joint prayer for the quick recovery of the balloon blast victims at the Republican Square in Yerevan city.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan also participated in the prayer.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, a tragedy occurred during the Armenian Republican Party rally and concert held at capital Yerevan city Republic Square on Friday. Hundreds of balloons filled with gas exploded and started to burn. Subsequently, the balloons’ melted rubber fell on the event participants. Those near the stage were affected the most, and a total of 154 people were injured. In the meantime, 74 sufferers are already discharged.
