YEREVAN. – Armenian capital Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan posted on his Facebook account a congratulatory message on the occasion of the May victories. 

“I congratulate us all in connection with the victory achieved in the Great Patriotic War. A victory which also was crafted as a result of the patriotic children of the Armenian people, [and] our people’s heroic battle and labor at the rear.     

I bow before the memory of all heroes who fell during the war, and before our glorious veterans [of war].  

Dear veterans, your heroic deeds are truly invaluable, just as the name of each soldier, who sacrificed his life for the salvation of the Motherland, is immortal,” Yerevan Mayor’s message specifically reads.        

On May 9, 2012, Armenia marks the Victory Day against fascism during the Great Patriotic War in World War II, and 20th anniversary of the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s City of Shushi.
