The authorities of Syria accused the neighboring Lebanon of supporting al-Qaeda terrorists. As Reuters reports, such a statement is contained in a letter of the Syrian leadership sent to UN.
“The authorities of Lebanon support terrorist elements in the bordering regions with Syria trying to ruin the peace settlement plan of the special envoy Kofi Annan. Lebanon supplies weapons to the countries under the mask of humanitarian aid,” the letter reads, Rosbalat reports.
Damascus can not present any evidence. The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has not yet responded in any way.
