SARDARAPAT. – The positions of National Assembly (NA) Speaker and PM will be held by members of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), because the RPA received the majority of the Armenian people’s trust during the parliamentary elections, RPA Spokesperson Eduard Sharmazanov told news reporters Monday while visiting the Sardarapat Memorial.

He informed that the RPA Executive Body will convene a session on Wednesday evening, and they will discuss the nominations for the posts of NA Speaker and PM, and, separately, a new government will be formed.

Reflecting on serving PM Tigran Sargsyan’s statement that he does not picture the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) as an opposition, RPA Spokesperson said: “Time will tell whether Prosperous Armenia Party is an opposition or an authority. The opposition could do many great things for the country, and the contrary. [And] It is the same in the case of the authorities.”

And in response to the query as to how Armenia’s new parliament will differ from the previous one, Eduard Sharmazanov said it will continue all the good traditions of the previous parliament and, in its turn, it will bring a new style and laws will pass in the name of the state and the authorities.
