YEREVAN. – Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia held the MP mandate distribution ceremony for the Parliament of the Fifth Convocation on Wednesday (Photos).

Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) MPs received mandates.

However, not all the party members were present at the ceremony. For example, RPA former Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan did not attend, while incumbent Speaker was too late. As for the PAP, its leader Gagik Tsarukyan was not present as well, while former FM and No. 2 in the PAP list Vartan Oskanian was again too late.

Opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) and Heritage MPs were absent at the ceremony and they can receive their mandates till the end of the working day, CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan said.

Armenia held parliamentary elections on May 6 and six parties, including RPA (44.05 percent), PAP (30.2), ANC (7.1), Heritage (5.79), ARF Dashnaktsutyun (5.73) and Orinats Yerkir (5.49) entered the Parliament.
