YEREVAN. – The MPs were able to be registered in Armenia’s National Assembly (NA) only after the third try, Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informs from the NA.  

Prior to commencing the session, however, its moderator Mkrtich Minasyan read out the names of all 131 deputies. A round of applause was given especially when the names were announced of the opposition Armenian National Congress and Heritage Party MPs, who were absent.    

Subsequently, Minasyan announced registration of the deputies.

A total of 109 MPs were registered in the first attempt. And during the second and third tries Minasyan announced: “Let him/her whose push button does not work raise his/her finger!”

A total of 111 deputies were registered during the second attempt, and, incidentally, former FM Vartan Oskanian’s push button was not working in the first and second tries.

And 114 MPs were registered in the third and final attempt. 

To note, first session of the fifth NA convened Thursday, and President Serzh Sargsyan addressed the session.
