YEREVAN. – “We saw, over the course of the recent several months, that there are hundreds of thousands of citizens who are prepared to reject money, [and] pressure, and to vote by listening to their conscience,” Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party leader Raffi Hovannisian stated during Party’s special congress convened on Saturday.

As per Hovannisian, those citizens, who cast their ballots not as slaves or serfs, are the greatest treasures.

“Yet again they believed in the watershed and the contradiction between de facto and de jure. Yet again we had a de facto parliament. And had the people voted as citizens, the Heritage Party would have had twenty percent, and Heritage would have had majority [in parliament],” he noted.

“The entire people lost in these elections,” Hovannisian maintained, and added that the people must get out of this devastating situation with combined efforts.

Raffi Hovannisian noted that they value each and every vote given to and stolen from them, and that Heritage’s representatives must defend the Armenian citizen’s votes in the next Parliament.
