YEREVAN.- France immediately responded to the recent incidents on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan,  French Ambassador to Armenia Henri Reynaud said in response to inquiry by Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“On June 6 spokesperson for the French MFA said that France, as a co-chairing state of the OSCE Minsk Group, expressed concern over the recent incidents.

France urges the sides to refrain from use of force and respect the ceasefire agreement reached in 1994 as there is no military solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The parties must be fully committed to a peaceful solution to the conflict based on the principles of the UN Charter and the Helsinki Final Act, in particular the principles of non-use of force, territorial integrity and the right of peoples to self-determination. French Embassy has nothing to add to this statement,” Ambassador said.
