YEREVAN.- Armenia’s economy is more diversified and able to resist, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said opening DigiTech Business Expo 2012.

He recalled that the last World Bank’s competitiveness report Armenia made a progress on six steps and, according to the experts, managed to come out of the global financial crisis stronger.

This played an important role in information technology, because, unlike the construction sector which faced a 46% decline due to crisis, IT-sector was marked by 27% growth, he said.

Sargsyan said that the number of people employed in IT-sphere equaled to the workers in the mining industry, but IT experts’ wages are higher.
