YEREVAN. – Italian mountaineer Tito De Luca’s book, entitled “Ararat: On the Tracks of Noah’s Ark,” was presented Thursday in Italy, MFA Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Addressing the event participants, Armenia’s Ambassador to Italy, Ruben Karapetyan, stressed that many know the biblical story of Noah’s Ark, which landed on Mount Ararat after the Great Flood. But very few people are aware that Mount Ararat is located at the heart of historical Armenia, and that the Ararat Valley—which is at the skirts of the biblical mountain—became Noah’s home and Armenia became his homeland.

The Ambassador added that this book presentation becomes more important especially these days, when some of Armenia’s neighbors’ policy of distorting history has become more aggressive. He expressed a conviction that the events such as this book launch contribute to publicizing information on the Armenian civilization.

The event brought together diplomats accredited in Italy, and numerous representatives from the cultural and scientific circles, the Italian media, and from the country’s Armenian community.
