YEREVAN. – The newly appointed Sport and Youth Affairs Minister Hrach Rostomyan released a statement.

“Sport has nothing to do with politics. When Armenian athletes become European, Olympic or world champions, we all feel proud regardless of party membership,” he said adding that it is not a secret that successes of the athletes in the recent years have greatly been connected to the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan’s activity and support.

"Being appointed a Minister, I temporary cease my membership to the party. The appointment has nothing to do with the party," the statement reads.
