NATO concerned over tension at frontline of Karabakh conflict zone

NATO is concerned over tensed situation along the line of contact between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Azerbaijan and Karabakh, NATO envoy said in Baku on Thursday.

James Appathurai, NATO special representative for South Caucasus and Central Asia, said the alliance supports efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group.

“There must be a political solution, and there will be no successful military solution,” Trend agency quotes Appathurai.

As regards Azerbaijan’s possible NATO membership, he said the issue is not on the agenda.
