Voter turnout in Karabakh presidential election exceeds 50%

STEPANAKERT.- The voter turnout in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) presidential election has reached 63,24% or 62,765 as of 5 p.m., said Karabakh’s Central Electoral Commission.

The total number of eligible voters is 98,909. As of 5 p.m., 57.79% or 21,168 voters participated in elections in capital Stepanakert.

Three non-party affiliate candidates are running in the NKR presidential elections. They are: Incumbent President Bako Sahakyan, Arkadi Soghomonyan who is the Deputy Director of Academic Activities at the NKR capital Stepanakert Branch of State Agrarian University of Armenia, and NKR National Assembly member Vitali Balasanyan.
