The situation around Syria can be a good lesson for Armenians, said politician and expert Ashot Manucharyan at a press-conference on Friday and added that first of all this is a lesson taught to people who look for happiness outside their country.

In his words, a year ago Syria was a very quiet and peaceful country, and if someone was then asked in which country unrest might occur, Syria hardly would be among top 100 countries. As for the situation with Syrian Armenians Manucharyan stressed that they would be a very important factor in the future, and that’s the reason the United States, Europe and Russia are ready to give them a shelter.

“Unfortunately, Armenia does not realize the potential of Syrian-Armenians. We are surrounded by jeopardies from all the sides and still we sleep quietly without thinking that those dangers might visit us one day,” said Manucharyan.
