YEREVAN. – The Armavia Airline Company, which is Armenia’s national airline carrier, is prepared to start additional flights to Syria.

“In connection with the worsening situation in Syria, all European airline companies’—including global airline giants’—refusal to conduct flights to Syria, and certain NGOs’ manipulation of the public opinion, Armavia Airline Company officially states:

- Despite the international consultations and the risks in connection with refusing [to conduct] flights in the given direction, it is ready to continue its flights to Syria, in order to remove our compatriots who wish to leave the region; and

- to open additional flights to Syria, with appropriate assistance from the Government of Armenia.

As Armenia’s national airline carrier, the Armavia Airline Company considers it indispensable to render assistance to the citizens abroad, and it has an experience of cooperation with the Government of Armenia, in transporting the Armenians during the Lebanese conflict,” Armavia’s respective statements reads in particular.
