TEHRAN. – A 3.4-magnitude earthquake hit the Mazandaran Province of Iran. 

The underground shakings were felt in the cities of Salman Shahr, Nowshahr, Chalus, and Kelardasht. 

The first tremor was recorded at 1:49am and the second one was recorded at 2:09am, Tehran local time, the Seismology Center of the University of Tehran’s Institute of Geophysics informs.  

There are no reports on any casualties or devastation.

And as Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, new earthquake rattled the eastern Turkish city of Van, as a 4.3-magnitude tremor was recorded Wednesday at 1:50am local time.   

But there are no reports so far on any casualties or destruction, Anadolu News Agency informs. 

To note, these underground shakings are jolting Turkey’s Van Province ever since last October. The major earthquakes that hit Van on October 23 and November 9, 2011, had claimed 672 lives and injured more than 6,000 people. Also, numerous aftershocks followed these quakes. A total of 2,262 buildings were destroyed as a result.
