WASHINGTON, DC. – Settlement of the Karabakh conflict will benefit the two countries, newly appointed US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar stated, Voice of America informs.

Addressing the United States-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC) meeting, Morningstar spoke about energy cooperation and energy safety in the Caspian region.

In his words, the US leads a balanced policy in the region. “The energy policy, which the US conducts in the region today, is more difficult and multi-vectored,” he said.

To note, Richard Morningstar will arrive in Azerbaijan on August 25. On June 30, the US Senate confirmed Morningstar’s candidacy as US Ambassador to Azerbaijan. And earlier, the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee had approved US President Barack Obama’s nomination of Morningstar to this office.
