MOSCOW. – Chess world champion Garry Kasparov has bitten a police officer while being detained, Public Council representative Anton Tsvetkov said. 

To note, Kasparov was detained in front of the court, which cast the verdict for the Pussy Riot pank group on Friday. The chess champion has no idea why he was detained, and added that he was ‘cruelly beaten.’

Another similar incident has occurred with the leader of the Russian opposition Yabloko party Sergey Mitrokhin in 2006, when the latter allegedly bit a policeman, Pravda.ru reports.
