YEREVAN.- Armenia will send humanitarian aid to Iran amounting to about $139,000, Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan told reporters on Monday.

Yeritsyan said he had contacted his Iranian counterparts to clarify information about the goods they need.

As explained by the official, humanitarian aid is sent, but Armenia is ready to lend additional assistance.

“We witnessed Spitak tragedy and know what it means to suffer from an earthquake,” he added.  Yeritsyan noted that Armenia offered Iran rescuers aid but they refused to accept assistance.

The aid was sent on Saturday by five cars and KAMAZ trailers
