YEREVAN.- Russia is the only real investor in Armenia’s economy. Any international cooperation with Moscow, including that within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Community, should be welcomed, leader of Democratic Party of Armenia Aram Sargsyan told reporters on Tuesday.

“In the 90s U.S. credited Armenia, however, no one but Russia made real investments in the country’s economy,” said Sargsyan adding that Armenia’s economy is at a standstill.

“This is the reason for migration especially from industrial cities, such as Charentsavan, Gyumri and Vanadzor” he said.

Sargsyan believes monopolization and corruption hamper country’s development. Unless these obstacles are  removed it is senseless to expect real socio-economic changes.
