STEPANAKERT. – The adversary violated the ceasefire, at the line of contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces, around 300 times in the past week, during which more than 1,500 shots were fired in the direction of Armenian positions—and by way of using different-caliber artillery weapons—the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Army’s operative data report informs.

But the Defense Army vanguard units honored the ceasefire, and confidently defended the military positions along the entire length of the line of contact.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, the Azerbaijani side regularly violated the ceasefire at Armenia’s border, in the early morning hours of Saturday, but these breaches were not large-scale, Armenian Defense Minister’s Press Secretary Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In Hovhannisyan’s words, security is not boosted at the border and President Serzh Sargsyan’s order toward increasing the alertness of the troops is being carried out.

Also, the adversary repeatedly violated the ceasefire, at the line of contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces, in the early morning hours of Saturday, but these breaches did not claim any lives from the Armenian side, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Army Press Secretary Senor Hasratyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

To note, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan convened a National Security Council session Friday—and in connection with the release of Azerbaijani army officer Ramil Safarov, who had killed Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan with an axe and while he was asleep—and instructed to increase the alertness of the Armed Forces.
