YEREVAN. – Armenian Deputy PM and Territorial Administration Minister Armen Gevorgyan on Wednesday received a delegation led by Iraqi Deputy PM Rose Nuri Shaways. 

Gevorgyan underscored the Iraqi delegation’s visit to Armenia, in terms of enhancing bilateral relations and deepening ties, Territorial Administration Ministry Public Relations Department informs.    

The Minister noted that Armenia stands ready to cooperate with Iraq in all domains. He expressed a hope that the guests will be able to get familiar with Armenia’s production capacity and outline the directions for interaction.  

In his turn, Iraq’s Deputy PM added that his country attaches a great importance to deepening ties with Armenia, and informed that his delegation also comprises ministers representing the infrastructural domains. The Iraqi side deemed especially appealing the possible cooperation in the energy, investment, health care, science and education sectors. Also, the guest informed about Iraq’s plan to open an embassy in Armenia.   

Armen Gevorgyan noted that this plan will give new impetus to the development of bilateral ties, and, also, underscored the need to form a legal framework between both countries.   

In addition, the interlocutors highlighted the necessity to increase business communication.

They also pointed to the Iraqi-Armenian community’s role in strengthening bilateral relations.
