DAMASCUS. – The President of Syria Bashar al-Assad congratulated his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan on the Independence Day, Syrian SANA state information agency reports.

On behalf of the Syrian people and himself, Bashar al-Assad congratulated the Armenian President and the Armenian nation on the Independence Day.

To note, Armenia celebrates the holiday on Friday. Celebration events are held on the occasion of the holiday. Relation between Armenia and Syria are in the highest level. Armenian community of Syria is one of the biggest in the Armenian Diaspora.
