Armenian News-NEWS.am has been informed by the Erebuni and Nubarashen community courts that two army cooks, 39 and 43 years of age, respectively, have been engaged in violence against each other that included profanity and fists while on contractual army duty.

The two women have been charged for violating the Armenian Army's code of conduct by swearing and resorting to physical violence in the kitchen while serving in the Armenian Defense Ministry’s army division.

Part 1 of Article 359, which deals with army conduct between personnel with equal authority and/or rank, has been invoked in this case. In particular, the article focuses on army violence where one’s dignity and self-esteem have been compromised or when one has been hazed, belittled, and/or denigrated.

The maximum punishment for the charge carries along a 3-month custody term or a 2-year disciplinary service with supervision (or, alternatively, a 2-year prison term).  The parties have signed court documents promising not to leave pending completion of the court proceedings.  The court date is October 16.
