A delegation of Hay Dat European Committee met with Hungary’s Ambassador to Belgium and Luxemburg Tamás Iván Kovács, asbarez.com informs.

The delegation’s meeting was aimed at demanding explanations in regard to Azerbaijani killer Ramil Safarov’s extradition and offering steps to resume ties between Armenia and Hungary.

The ambassador conveyed his government’s disappointment at the Azerbaijani government’s pardon of Ramil Safarov.

He noted that Aliyev’s step was inconsistent with diplomatic and political principles, especially, after Baku gave promise that Safarov would continue serving his punishment in the Azerbaijani prison. Besides, the Ambassador stressed importance of resuming diplomatic ties between Armenia and Hungary.

Chairman of Hay Dat Committee of Europe Gaspar Karapetian also stated that Hungary should have made a statement in support for the right of the Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh] people to self-determination. The ambassador promised to convey the demands to the Hungarian FM.
