Armenia is ranked 92nd in the Global Gender Gap Index issued by the World Economic Forum.

The report says Armenia fell eight places this year. This fall is the consequence of a significant decrease in the estimated earned income ratio. Armenia is one of the four countries from the region that performs below average on the health and survival subindex.

The Global Gender Gap Report 2012 benchmarks national gender gaps of 135 countries on economic, political, education- and health-based criteria.

Georgia is ranked 85th having the best indicators among neighboring states. Azerbaijan ranks in 99th position, Turkey – 124 and Iran – 127.

Iceland tops the overall rankings followed by Finland, Norway and Sweden.
