Sargsyan congratulated those present, on this occasion, and extended his thanks to the soldiers for their excellent service, the President’s Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“The armed forces’ calling is to protect our people. But there are subdivisions within the armed forces on whose actions our people’s security is directly dependent. And the air defense unit is one such subdivision,” the President said.
Also, he noted that as a result of these units’ brilliant actions during the Karabakh War, the adversary was unable to cause a significant damage to the Armenian side, but the Armenian air forces were able to cause a considerable damage to the adversary’s air force.
In Serzh Sargsyan’s words, the official opening of this new military unit symbolizes the future of all Armenian military units.
