An earthquake measuring magnitude 3.7 was registered at the bottom of Turkey’s Lake Van.  

The tremor was recorded on Monday at 9:40pm local time (11:40 Armenia time). Its epicenter was at the bottom of the Lake, 5 kilometers beneath, Radikal daily of Turkey informs.    

The underground shaking was felt in the City of Van and in the Artamed township, where the residents panicked. 

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, major earthquakes had hit Turkey’s Van Province on October 23 and November 9, 2011, and claimed 672 lives and injured more than 6,000 people. Also, numerous aftershocks had followed these quakes. A total of 2,262 buildings were destroyed as a result.
