YEREVAN. – The Armenian Jeweler’s National Day is celebrated on the last Sunday of October. Also, the “Yerevan Show 2012” international jewelry exhibition was held Monday in the Armenian capital city Yerevan. Representatives from around seventy countries participated in the event that was organized by the Armenian Jewelers’ Association (AJA).

And a jewelry conference was convened on Tuesday, whereby the AJA’s fifteenth anniversary was marked, too. AJA Chairman Gagik Gevorgyan welcomed the audience with opening remarks, and briefly presented the Association’s activities.      

Next, Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan took the floor. She called upon the jewelers, who had come to Armenia from numerous countries, to make investments in Armenia and, instead of carrying out solely charitable programs, she encouraged them to implement investment and business projects in the country.   

In his turn, Deputy Economy Minister Tigran Harutyunyan spoke about the Free Economic Zone’s opportunities, the possible options for its establishment and operation, and its benefits.
