YEREVAN. – Iran has suspended the export of 52 name products and, as a result, the import of polymer raw material into Armenia has halted for the past two weeks.

This situation will have a severely negative impact specifically on Armenia’s food industry and agriculture, the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia news service release states.

At least 30-40 days will be needed to import the necessary raw material from other countries and, naturally, at a higher cost, and this, in its turn, will result in an increase in the price of these goods in Armenia.

The Union has petitioned PM Tigran Sargsyan with a request for his mediation to resolve this matter together with Iran’s relevant agencies.
