DIYARBAKIR. – The Diyarbakir Kurd Mayor Osman Baydemir has released a statement in connection with the opening of Armenian Church St. Kirakos, located in the south-eastern part of Turkey in Diyarbakir. The photo coverage by Armenian News-NEWS.am is available here.

The mayor, who undertook 30 percent of the renovation expenses of the biggest Armenian Church, stated that the opening of St. Kirakos is an effort for common treatment of wounds of the past, while ‘our cooperation’ is the compensation for 90 years.

Diyarbakir held the consecration of a single monastery complex and the first liturgy on Nov. 4.
