Famous Armenian singer Flora Martirosyan passes away

Famous Armenian folk singer Flora Martirosyan passed away on Tuesday in U.S. She is survived by her two children.

Flora Martirosyan was born in Gyumri in 1957. She graduated from Yerevan State Conservatory. In 1991 she moved to U.S. but then returned in 1995. In 1995-97 she was heading music school after Armen Tigranyan.

In 2002 Flora established International Music Academy after Komitas in U.S. where Armenian and foreign children get music education. In 2006 she initiated A Pan-Armenian Song Contest Festival.
