YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan received on Thursday cofounder, president and CEO of Synaptics Federico Faggin and awarded him with the 2012 Award of the President of Armenia for his contribution in IT sphere.

Sargsyan delivered a speech on the occasion of granting the award.

“I am glad to welcome the honorary president of Synaptics and celebrity engineer Federico Faggin. Yerevan hosts Faggin to award him for his contribution in the IT sphere. He is famous for various innovation ideas, but especially as the scientist having projected the first microprocessor,” the president stated.
