YEREVAN. – The country’s leaders are determined to build the Batumi-Khulo-Akhaltsikhe-Bavra Highway, which is of importance for Armenia. Archil Khabadze, the newly elected Head of the Government of Georgia’s Autonomous Republic of Adjara, stated this during his meeting with Aram Grigoryan, Armenia’s Consul General in Batumi.

The aforesaid road will reduce virtually twice the duration of Adjara’s motor link with Armenia, and, as a result, more tourists from Armenia will be able to visit the health resorts of the autonomous republic, the Armenian MFA informs.

In his turn, Aram Grigoryan expressed a hope that the cooperation between the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the Consulate General of Armenia will continue under Adjara’s new authorities.

The new chairman of the government of Adjara informed about his plans to commence new programs and to finish the ones that are already in progress.

The interlocutors touched upon the matters of concern to the Armenian community of Adjara, and Archil Khabadze stressed this community’s active role in the autonomous republic.

Also, they discussed the avenues for deepening cooperation between the sister cities in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and in Armenia’s Lori Region.
