YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Friday received the People’s Artist of the USSR, famous Russian singer Iosif Kobzon, who is in the capital city Yerevan along the lines of the anniversary concert tour devoted to his 75th birth anniversary.     

The President congratulated Kobzon on his birthday celebration and noted that Armenia is always happy to host the popular and talented singer, who is a good friend of Armenia and the Armenians. Sargsyan stressed that the people of Armenia are proud of Iosif Kobzon’s continuing loyalty to his friendship with the great Armenian composer, the dear departed Arno Babajanyan.   

In his turn, Iosif Kobzon extended his thanks for the President’s hospitality and appreciation. He informed Sargsyan about his impressions from his current visit to Armenia and with respect to the Armenian audience that attended and the Armenian musicians that performed at his benefit concert on Thursday.
